Tra questi rientrano gli acciai al cromo-nichel, le leghe ad alto tenore di cromo, i metalli non ferrosi e la ghisa. Durante il taglio, questi acciai formano ossidi molto duri con un punto di fusione elevato, che complicano il processo di taglio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taglio ossiacetilenico <\/strong>Questo problema viene risolto con successo introducendo polvere di flusso nella zona di taglio insieme all&#039;ossigeno. Una volta bruciato, il flusso rilascia molto pi\u00f9 calore e aumenta la temperatura nella zona di taglio. Le particelle di flusso bruciate ammorbidiscono anche le scorie di ossido e le rendono pi\u00f9 fluide, consentendone una facile rimozione dalla zona di taglio e migliorando il successivo taglio del metallo.<\/p>\n\n\t<!--<div class='top-banner-pages'>\t\n\n\t<\/div>--->\n\t\n<p>La polvere di ferro funge da fondente, rilasciando una grande quantit\u00e0 di calore durante la combustione, circa 1800 kcal\/kg. Il processo di taglio dipende dalla composizione chimica e dalla granulazione di questa polvere. Nel taglio dell&#039;acciaio inossidabile, il contenuto di ossigeno, presente nella polvere sotto forma di ossidi, non dovrebbe superare 6%. Nel taglio della ghisa, il fondente riduce il contenuto di carbonio della lega e liquefa le scorie. A questo scopo si utilizza un fondente contenente polvere di ferro e alluminio.
